AWARD of EXCELLENCE The most outstanding project of the Waterloo-Wellington Science and Engineering fair receives a trophy, and admission scholarships to Conestoga College, the University of Guelph, the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, and the University of Ottawa. Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, Reno, Nevada Zach Elgood, from Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute, selected as a member of 2009 Team Canada, with his project "In-Stream Bioreactors: N2O Producers?" was awarded Third place, and $1000, in the Environmental Management Division. (see below)

Stephen J. Little Award (In Memory)	Stephen J. Little founded the Waterloo-Wellington Science and Engineering Fair. For many years he was the driving force required to get the Fair established. He continued to work with the Fair until he passed away in 2003. The award is presented to the student who exibits the most creativity and effectiveness in the presentation of a project.

VIA Rail Canada's EnviroExpo Special	The EnviroExpo Special Award challenges youth to approach environmental issues from a different angle - one that combines good science and creative presentation - an artistic element that enhances the communication or commercial value of the project. This could include an outstanding display, a video or rap about the project, a web site or creative packaging for an innovative product. To be eligible, projects must focus on one of the following environmental areas: renewable Energy, Sustainable Development, Resource Management, Environmental Influences on Health, Culture, Society and the Envionment, the Greening of Products and Services or Biodiversity. The EnviroExpo Special Award is open to all students, grades 7-12 and may be awarded to a project with one or two students.
